Hours after taking oath as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump has signed a several significant executive orders publicly. Later in the day, he signed many more orders after reaching the White House.

Just after his inauguration, Donald Trump announced executive orders for day-one of his second term. As per the details, Trump has signed as many as 80 executive orders to reverse actions taken by the previous Biden administration.

Minutes before signing the orders, Donald Trump said, “We will sign executive orders first to revoke nearly 80 destructive and radical executive actions of the previous administration.”

According to news agency CNN, Trump has pardoned US Capitol rioters, saying the pardon would cover 1,500 people, which would appear to cover nearly everyone charged since the attack on January 6, 2021. Later, he also commuted the sentences of Oath Keepers and Proud Boys who were convicted of seditious conspiracy.

According to BBC, signing more executive actions by Trump are the ones related to the definition of birthright citizenship and another declaring a “national emergency” at the US’s southern border. President Trump said his topmost priority is to declare a national emergency along the US’ southern border with Mexico.

The CNN has reported that the senior leadership at the Executive Office of Review, the Justice Department’s agency overseeing the nation’s immigration courts, were also removed from service.

As per the details, President Trump also said his day-one orders include those curbing immigration, boost fossil fuel production, and roll back environmental regulations, namely the 2021 Paris Climate accord.

The White House said,”Over the last 4 years, the previous administration trampled free speech rights by censoring Americans’ speech on online platforms, often by exerting substantial coercive pressure on third parties, such as social media companies, to moderate, de-platform, or otherwise suppress speech that the Federal Government did not approve.”

Trump said that he is withdrawing the US from the World Health Organization, a significant move cutting ties with the United Nation’s public health agency on his first day in office. Trump has previously attacked the organisation over its Covid response.
