<p>US President Donald J Trump has ordered the full release of previously classified records related to the assassination of former President John F Kennedy. <p>Trump&rsquo;s Executive Order 14176 stressed the importance of public interest in these disclosures, stating that withholding information about JFK&rsquo;s assassination is “not consistent with the public interest” and that releasing these records was “long overdue”. The directive mandated that all unredacted files within the President John F Kennedy Assassination Records Collection be made available to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) for immediate public access.</p>

<p>Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard swiftly acted on the President&rsquo;s directive, issuing instructions across intelligence agencies to ensure compliance. Starting Wednesday, people world over can access approximately 80,000 pages of declassified records through NARA&rsquo;s online repository at archives.gov/jfk or in person at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland.</p>
