‘My Name Won’t Be Shehbaz If Pakistan Doesn’t Surpass India’: Sharif’s Animated Speech Goes Viral

<p>Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again found himself in the spotlight after delivering an animated speech in which he dramatically pledged that his name would cease to be Shehbaz Sharif if Pakistan failed to surpass India in economic development and progress. &nbsp;</p>
<p>During a public rally in Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab, on Saturday, Sharif&mdash;known for his animated oratory&mdash;was seen punching the air, thumping his chest, and even jumping on the stage while making his declarations. &nbsp;</p>
<p>”My name won&rsquo;t be Shehbaz Sharif if due to our efforts Pakistan does not leave India behind in terms of development and progress,” he proclaimed to the crowd as seen in a viral video. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The Prime Minister went a step further by swearing on the life of his elder brother, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. &nbsp;</p>
<p>”I am Nawaz Sharif&rsquo;s fan, his follower. Today, I swear on his blessed life that till the day I have the energy and the will to do so, we will all work together to take Pakistan to greatness and defeat India,” he added. &nbsp;</p>
<p>According to Dawn News, Sharif also acknowledged the importance of eliminating terrorism for Pakistan&rsquo;s progress. “The enemies of Pakistan, including Fitna al Khwarij, were carrying out terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, and security forces were offering sacrifices in the fight against terrorism,” he said, urging the nation to remember their contributions, as quoted by Dawn. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Sharif&rsquo;s speech, however, did not go down well on social media as many ridiculed his grandiose claims. Several Indian users took to social media to mock the Pakistani Prime Minister. &nbsp;</p>
<p>”Naya naam sochna padega (You’ll need to think of a new name)”, one user quipped, referencing Sharif&rsquo;s pledge. &nbsp;</p>
