New Delhi: Indian security agencies are set to hand over a list of the country’s most wanted gangsters to their American counterparts in the coming days, sources said. The list is expected to include at least 10 notorious criminals, some of whom are believed to be residing in the United States.

Among those named in the purported list are Goldy Brar and Anmol Bishnoi, both of whom have been linked to organised crime and high-profile cases in India. The move comes as part of an agreement between India and the United States, signed last year, aimed at strengthening cooperation in tackling cross-border crime and fugitive extradition.

Sources told ABP News that senior officials from both countries have over the past year engaged in multiple high-level meetings to discuss the matter, with efforts now reaching a decisive stage. The initiative aligns with the broader strategy of both nations to tighten their grip on criminals evading justice by seeking refuge abroad.

Not Directly Linked To Modi’s US Visit

The submission of the gangster list gains further significance as Prime Minister Narendra Modi lands in the US in a few hours from now on his first official visit to that country since Donald Trump returned to power. However, the sources clarified that the development is not directly linked to Modi’s visit. The agreement on this matter had already been reached earlier, and the handover of the list is merely a step in executing the terms of the pact.

The exchange of intelligence and security cooperation between India and the U.S. underscores the growing partnership between the two nations in combating transnational crime. With this latest move, authorities hope to accelerate legal proceedings against the named individuals and bring them to justice.

Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a key suspect in the alleged plot to assassinate NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, was arrested in the United States last November. US immigration authorities detained him after discovering that he was travelling with forged documents.

A special court in Mumbai last month issued non-bailable warrants against Anmol and two other fugitives in connection with Siddique’s murder case, further intensifying the legal proceedings against them.

Goldy Brar, officially designated as a terrorist by the central government under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, is accused of orchestrating the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Brar, whose real name is Satinderjit Singh, is a prominent figure in the Bishnoi gang, and he hails from Punjab’s Faridkot. He initially moved to Canada in 2017 on a student visa, before later relocating to California.
