The White House on Friday shared images showing deportation of illegal immigrants from the United States via a military aircraft. This comes as the US authorities arrested 538 “illegal immigrant criminals” and deported hundreds in a massive deportation operation carried out after President Donald Trump assumed office this week for the second time.

In a post on X, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump is sending a “strong and clear message” to the entire world. She wrote the deportation process has begun as she shared images showing immigrants walking towards a military aircraft.

”Deportation flights have begun,” Karoline Leavitt wrote. “President Trump is sending a strong and clear message to the entire world: if you illegally enter the United States of America, you will face severe consequences,” the post read.

Earlier today, Leavitt wrote in a post on X that the Trump administration arrested 538 illegal immigrants, including a suspected terrorist, and deported hundreds of them via military aircraft.

”The Trump Administration arrested 538 illegal immigrant criminals including a suspected terrorist, four members of the Tren de Aragua gang, and several illegals convicted of sex crimes against minors,” she said.

”The Trump Administration also deported hundreds of illegal immigrant criminals via military aircraft. The largest massive deportation operation in history is well underway. Promises made. Promises kept,” Leavitt said in another post.

These developments have taken place after Trump vowed a crackdown on illegal immigration during the election campaign. On January 20, he began his second term as the US President and signed a slew of executive orders to deport “criminal aliens”.

He had also declared a “national emergency” at the southern US border and announced increased deployment of troops on the US-Mexico border. Additionally, he cancelled refugee resettlement and hinted at his plans to prosecute officials who don’t enforce the new immigration policies, AFP reported.

US immigration agents on Thursday rounded up undocumented migrants as well as US citizens duringa raid at Newark, New Jersey, which was later condemned by the city’s mayor, who claimed a military veteran was detained and that the raid violated people’s rights.

This New Jersey city is one of the most populated and was called a “sanctuary” by the mayor Ras Baraka. “Newark will not stand by idly while people are being unlawfully terrorized,” the mayor said, condemning the raid.
