Virginia Giuffre, Who Accused Jeffrey Epstein & Prince Andrew Of Sexual Abuse, Dies By Suicide

<p>Virginia Giuffre, who accused disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse has died by suicide at the age of 41, her family has confirmed.&nbsp;</p>
<p>In a statement on Friday, her relatives said she had been a “fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse”, and that the “toll of abuse… became unbearable”.</p>
<p>”She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking,” her family said in the statement, reported BBC.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>’Passed Around Like Fruit Platter'</h2>
<p>Giuffre was one of the most prominent accusers of Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell who said she was “passed around like a platter of fruit” as a teenager to rich and powerful predators including Prince Andrew of Britain.&nbsp;</p>
<p>She alleged that Epstein and Maxwell trafficked her to the Duke of York when she was 17, an accusation Prince Andrew has strenuously denied.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Her family said that she died on Thursday at her farm in Western Australia.&nbsp;</p>
<p>West Australia police said they were alerted to reports of a woman who had been found unresponsive at a home in Neergabby on Friday night.</p>
<p>Giuffre has been recently living with her children and husband Robert in the suburb of North Perth, while recent reports suggested the couple had split after 22 years of marriage.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Three weeks ago, she posted on Instagram saying she had been seriously injured in a car accident and had “just days to live”.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Sex Trafficking, Abuse</h2>
<p>Prince Andrew, who had rejected the allegations of sex trafficking reached an out-of-court settlement with her in 2022. The settlement included a statement in which he expressed regret for his association with Epstein.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The statement, however, contained no admission of liability or apology.</p>
<p>Giuffre, an American said she met Maxwell, a British socialite in the year 2000 and became a victim of sex trafficking when she was a teenager.&nbsp;</p>
<p>From there, she said she was introduced to Epstein and alleged years of abuse by him and his associates.&nbsp;</p>
