US Vice President JD Vance, Wife To Visit India Next Week Amid Tariff Row

<p>US Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to visit India next week, where he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and tour New Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra. Vance, accompanied by his family, will be visiting both Italy and India from April 18 to April 24.</p>
<p>In a release, the Office of the Vice President on Wednesday announced, “Vice President JD Vance and the Second Family will travel to Italy and India from April 18 to April 24. The Vice President will discuss shared economic and geopolitical priorities with leaders in each country. “</p>
<p>During Rome, Italy’s visit, the Vice President is set to meet Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, according to a report by the news agency ANI.</p>
<p>”In India, the Vice President will visit New Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra. The Vice President will hold meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Vice President and Second Family will also participate in engagements at cultural sites,” the release added.</p>

<p>This marked PM Modi&rsquo;s first US visit since Donald Trump began his second term as president. Upon his arrival, he proceeded to Blair House, where members of the Indian diaspora had gathered to welcome him. The crowd greeted him with chants of &ldquo;Bharat Mata Ki Jai&rdquo; and &ldquo;Modi, Modi.&rdquo;</p>
<p>PM Modi expressed his gratitude for the warm reception. During his visit to the U.S. on February 12-13, he stayed at the Blair House.</p>
