Trump Supporters Burn MAGA Hats As US President Faces Backlash Over Epstein Details: WATCH

<p>Supporters of Donald Trump are burning their ‘Make America Great Again’ (MAGA) hats as the majority of them believe his administration is hiding information about accused sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The US President has been insisting that the criticism over the handling of the Epstein files is a “hoax”, but it shows no signs of working.&nbsp;</p>
<p>A poll by Reuters/Ipsos found that 69 per cent of respondents thought the federal government was hiding details about Epstein’s clients, while only 6 per cent disagreed, and about one in four respondents said they were not sure.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier and convicted sex offender, died by suicide in 2019 in his jail while facing federal charges of sex trafficking minors. He had pleaded not guilty, and the case was dismissed after his death.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Videos of red baseball hats labelled “MAGA’ or ‘Make America Great Again’ in white going up in flames were uploaded by users on social media, including X and TikTok, as they demanded answers from Trump.</p>

<h2>Trump Faces Backlash&nbsp;</h2>
<p>The US President is facing the heat over Epstein files after Republican Speaker of the House and Trump loyalist Mike Johnson called for the release of all documents relating to the late financier and a longtime former friend of Trump.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Rebellion has since continued to simmer within the president’s normally diehard base.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Trump’s former Vice President Mike Pence also called for the release of all the files. &nbsp;&ldquo;I think the time has come for the administration to release all of the files regarding Jeffrey Epstein&rsquo;s investigation and prosecution,” Pence told CBS News.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Another Trump loyalist who is his frequent close adviser, conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer called for spiracy theorist Laura Loomer, a frequent close adviser to Trump, called for the appointment of a special counsel to handle the Epstein files investigation.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Obviously, this is not a complete hoax given the fact that [Epstein associate] Ghislaine Maxwell is currently serving 20 years in prison in Florida for her crimes and activities with Jeffrey Epstein, who we know is a convicted sexual predator,&rdquo; Loomer said.&nbsp;</p>
