Days after closing its airspace for India, Pakistan has now installed jammers to prevent Indian aircraft from entering its airspace.

According to sources, Pakistan has also increased the deployment of Chinese-made anti-aircraft missile systems amid incidents of firing along the Line of Control (LoC) as tensions continue to rise between the two countries following the Pahalgam terror attack.

The move comes after India shut its airspace for all Pakistani-operated flights effective from April 30 to May 23. During this time period, no Pakistani aircraft will be permitted to enter the Indian airspace.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) on Wednesday issued a NOTAM (Notice to Air Mission) and closed its airspace for Pakistan-registered operated, or leased aircraft, airlines, and military flights.

This decision by India was taken after Pakistan shut its airspace to all flights owned and operated by all Indian carriers, following the terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists.
