Owaisi Urges Centre To Raise Voice For Palestine In Eid Ul-Adha Speech

by aweeincm

Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Eid ul-Adha drew attention to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Speaking at a public gathering in Hyderabad on Sunday, June 8, Owaisi urged the Indian government and the global community not to turn a blind eye to the suffering of Palestinians.

As the crowd gathered to celebrate Eid, Owaisi struck a sombre tone, reminding attendees of the pain endured by millions in Gaza. “My elders and friends, while we rejoice in Eid’s blessings, let us not forget the people of Palestine,” he said. “It has been over a year of relentless devastation — more than a million have been displaced, and over 60,000 lives lost. Thousands have lost limbs, and yet even basic anaesthesia for surgeries is unavailable.”

’India Has Always Stood With Palestine'

Reaffirming India’s historical support for Palestine, Owaisi called upon the Indian government to play a more proactive role in ending the bloodshed. “India has always backed Palestine,” he noted. “Now is the time to ensure that the genocide in Gaza is stopped and that food is provided to those dying of hunger.”

Owaisi didn’t hold back in his criticism of Israel’s military actions. He stressed that the situation in Gaza is not about fighting terrorism but rather targeting innocent civilians. “It’s not ISIS that’s killing people in Gaza—it’s the Israeli forces,” he said. “They’re bombing mosques and selling drugs, all while silencing the world with their actions.”

’A ₹5 Biscuit Costs ₹2,300 in Gaza'

Owaisi also highlighted the brutal economic conditions in the region. “Yesterday, someone showed me a video,” he said. “A father in Gaza had to pay ₹2,300 for a pack of biscuits that costs just ₹5 here in India. Just think about that.”

Expressing his frustration at global silence, Owaisi remarked, “The world never tires of talking about human rights. But when it comes to Israel’s atrocities in Palestine, everyone looks the other way. No one speaks up.”
