As tensions continue to soar in the Middle East, Iran launched another barrage of missile strikes against Israel early Monday, claiming at least five lives and injuring dozens. The offensive came as Israel claimed it had attained “full air supremacy” over Tehran airspace, and that it could now fly over the Iranian capital without any threats.

Following four days of continuous aerial operations, Israel declared “aerial superiority” over Iran’s capital, with Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin, a spokesperson for the Israeli military, stating, “Now we can say that we have achieved full air supremacy in the Tehran airspace,” Associated Press reported.

Israel has also said it has neutralised over 120 missile launchers, approximately a third of Iran’s arsenal, which were used to launch attacks on Israeli territory in recent nights.

Iran Vows Revenge, Fires Missiles At Key Israeli Cities

Meanwhile, Iran vowed further retaliation against the sweeping attacks by Israel on its nuclear and military infrastructure, and announced that it had launched around 100 missiles, including a site near the American consulate in Tel Aviv.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard have warned that upcoming offensives would be “more forceful, severe, precise and destructive than previous ones.” So far, at least 224 have died and over 1,200 injured in Iran since the conflict escalated last Friday, AP reported.

US Ambassador Mike Huckabee confirmed on X that no US personnel were injured in the attack, but the explosion had caused minor damage.

Explosions Rock Tel Aviv, Petah Tikva; Civilians Targeted

Explosions were reported in Tel Aviv and Petah Tikva in Isarel as Iran’s missiles targeted civilian areas. A building in Petah Tikva was heavily damaged, its concrete walls charred and apartments blown open.

“We clearly see that our civilians are being targeted,” said Israeli police spokesperson Dean Elsdunne, surveying the wreckage.

A Petah Tikva resident, Yoram Suki, whose apartment was destroyed, shared, “Thank God we were OK.” Despite his loss, he backed continued military action: “It’s totally worth it. This is for the sake of our children and grandchildren.”

Israel said at least 24 people have been killed and over 500 others injured as Iran launched more than 370 missiles and hundreds of drones toward it. In retaliation, the Israeli military fighter jets struck 10 command centers of Iran’s Quds Force in Tehran, an elite unit of its Revolutionary Guard known for military and intelligence operations outside Iran.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Sunday said that Iran will stop its strikes if Israel does the same. However, when Israel intensified its attacks and began hitting oil refineries and government buildings in Iran, the Revolutionary Guard vowed of “severe and precise” strikes ahead.
