Indian Consulate In Shanghai Pays Tribute To Pahalgam Terror Victims On Rabindra Jayanti

<p>The Consulate General of India in Shanghai observed Rabindra Jayanti on Sunday with a solemn pledge ceremony in remembrance of the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attacks. The ceremony was marked by a reaffirmation of India&rsquo;s zero-tolerance stance against terrorism.</p>
<p>In a post on X, the Consulate stated, &ldquo;On Rabindra Jayanti, a solemn pledge ceremony was held at Consulate General of India today to remember and pay homage to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attacks. <p>The observance comes at a time when seven all-party delegations from India are visiting key partner countries, including members of the United Nations Security Council, to present a united front on India&rsquo;s fight against cross-border terrorism.</p>
<p>These delegations aim to highlight India&rsquo;s national consensus and unwavering approach to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The teams comprise Members of Parliament from various political parties, prominent political leaders, and distinguished diplomats.</p>
<p>However, notably, India has not sent any delegation to China.</p>
<h3><strong>’Pakistan Received Support From China&rsquo;s Air Defence And Satellite Systems’: Chinese Defence Ministry Spokesperson</strong></h3>
<p>Meanwhile, on May 30, Chinese Defence Ministry spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang declined to comment on the performance of Pakistan&rsquo;s weaponry during the recent military confrontation with India. As reported by the Global Times, Zhang sidestepped specific questions and instead urged both countries to remain calm.</p>
<p>The development follows reports of India recovering an unexploded PL-15E missile, a Chinese-manufactured beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile.</p>
<p>During a routine press briefing, Zhang was asked about Indian military officials&rsquo; remarks that &ldquo;Pakistan received support from China&rsquo;s air defence and satellite systems, but the performance of these systems was below average.&rdquo; In response, Zhang said, &ldquo;We would like to stress that India and Pakistan are neighbours that cannot be moved. We hope both sides will remain calm and restrained to avoid further complicating the situation.&rdquo;</p>
<p>He further added that China is willing to continue playing a constructive role in maintaining regional peace and stability.</p>
