Google’s Identity Check Security Feature Will Arrive on More Phones With Android 16: Report

Google’s Android 16 update will reportedly expand its Identity Check security feature, currently on select Samsung and Pixel phones, to more Android devices. This feature safeguards user data and Google accounts upon phone theft by requiring biometric authentication for critical setting changes. The feature is similar to Apple’s Stolen Device Protection, introduced with iOS 17.3 in January 2024.
