‘A Failed State That Depends On Foreign Aid’: India Schools Pakistan At UNHCR For Peddling ‘Misinformation’

by aweeincm

Pakistan yet again embarrassed itself on a global platform as India schooled the nation for peddling “misinformation”. At the seventh meeting of the 58th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Pakistan found itself at the receiving end of India’s sharp rebuttal to its baseless and false allegations.

Kshitij Tyagi, representing India’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva, denounced Pakistan’s leadership for perpetuating falsehoods orchestrated by its military-terrorist complex.

Tyagi stated, “It is unfortunate to witness Pakistan’s leaders and representatives continuing to propagate misinformation dictated by its military-terrorist complex. Pakistan is misusing the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as a tool to further its own agenda.”

”It is regrettable that this Council’s time is repeatedly wasted by a failed state that thrives on instability and relies on external assistance. Pakistan’s rhetoric reeks of hypocrisy, its actions demonstrate inhumanity, and its governance reflects sheer incompetence,” Tyagi said. He added that India’s foremost commitment was to its ideals of democracy, progress, and the dignity of its people and advised Pakistan to adopt the same.

Continuing his sharp rebuttal, Tyagi reaffirmed that Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable parts of India. He highlighted the region’s development as evidence of the Indian government’s commitment to progress, as per news agency ANI. “The Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh will always remain an integral part of India. The remarkable political, social, and economic progress in Jammu & Kashmir over the past few years is self-evident. These achievements underscore the trust of the people in the government’s efforts to restore normalcy to an area that has long suffered from Pakistan-sponsored terrorism,” he said.

Tyagi further slammed Pakistan’s human rights record, highlighting its persecution of minorities and the erosion of democratic values. He accused Pakistan of providing a safe haven for UN-sanctioned terrorists and asserted that the country is in no position to lecture others on governance or human rights.

He urged Pakistan to redirect its focus toward addressing its own internal challenges rather than its ongoing preoccupation with India. “Instead of indulging in an unhealthy obsession with India, Pakistan should concentrate on ensuring effective governance and justice for its own people,” he was quoted as saying by ANI.

Tyagi’s remarks were made in response to what he described as ‘baseless and malicious’ references made by Pakistan. “India is exercising its right of reply in response to Pakistan’s unfounded and misleading claims,” he asserted.
