OpenAI on Tuesday announced new safety measures for children and teenagers using ChatGPT, while confirming a different approach for adults. The company said users over 18 will be treated “like adults,” meaning the chatbot may provide sensitive information, such as on self-harm, if framed as educational. OpenAI also teased a privilege system restricting employee access to adult conversations.
