Following US sanctions on The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba and the outfit behind the recent Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan is reportedly on edge over a potential Indian airstrike.

In a significant move, Pakistan has issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen), effectively closing portions of its airspace for an entire week—raising speculation over military drills or missile tests.

From July 16 to 23, airspace over Pakistan’s central sector will remain completely restricted. Additionally, on July 22 and 23, southern airspace will also be off-limits. The move comes amid sightings of Chinese cargo aircraft in Pakistan last week, fueling reports that Beijing may have supplied Islamabad with new weapons and air defense systems.

Moreover, until August 23, Pakistan has entirely closed its airspace to Indian civil and military aircraft. This extended restriction follows the Pahalgam attack, after which Pakistan has consistently issued NOTAMs targeting Indian aviation activity.

The heightened alert reflects growing regional tensions and concerns of a possible retaliatory strike from India.
