‘Sleeping Prince’ Of Saudi Arabia Passes Away After 20 Years In Coma

<p>Prince Alwaleed bin Khalid bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, widely known as Saudi Arabia&rsquo;s &lsquo;Sleeping Prince&rsquo;, has passed away after spending nearly 20 years in a coma. The Royal Court confirmed the news on Saturday, July 19, via the Saudi Press Agency.</p>
<p>The prince had been in a coma since 2005, following a tragic traffic accident that left him in a persistent vegetative state. His passing has sparked an outpouring of grief across the kingdom.</p>
<p>Funeral prayers for Prince Alwaleed will be held on Sunday (July 20) after the Asr prayer at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh.</p>
<p>His father, Prince Khaled bin Talal, expressed his sorrow on the social media platform X, stating, “With hearts full of faith in Allah&rsquo;s decree and destiny, and with profound sadness and sorrow, we mourn our beloved son… may Allah have mercy on him.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Men&rsquo;s prayer will be held at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque after Asr prayer on Sunday, while women&rsquo;s prayer will be held at King Faisal Specialist Hospital after Dhuhr prayer.</p>
<p>Prince Khaled bin Talal had long held onto hope for his son&rsquo;s recovery, praying continuously throughout Islam&rsquo;s most sacred moments, from the final nights of Ramadan to the festive days of Eid Al Adha.&nbsp;</p>
