In the shared post, two of the images showed a list of fake accounts, and the other two showed posts and fake claims. In one of the images, a fake account by the Ministry of Defence in Iran is shown, claiming that the Iranian authorities are “reconsidering” the Chabahar Port agreement with India.

The embassy wrote over the image with the caption “Fake News, Fake Account”.

“India and Iran share a millennia-long history of interactions. The contemporary relationship draws upon the strength of these historical and civilisational ties, and continues to grow further marked by high-level exchanges, commercial and connectivity cooperation, cultural and robust people-to-people ties,” according to a Bilateral Brief on the website of Ministry Of External Affairs.
