Pakistan Claims India Planning Military Action In 24-36 Hours

by aweeincm

Pakistan on Wednesday sounded an alarm claiming it has reliable intelligence that India might launch a military operation within the next 24 to 36 hours. The neighbouring nation warned India that any aggression would be met with consequences.

This comes hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s high-level meeting with top military officials on Tuesday. PM Modi granted the armed forces full autonomy to decide how and when to respond to last week’s deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, as per government sources.

In the wake of the attack, Modi vowed that the perpetrators and those supporting them would not escape justice, promising to track them down “to the ends of the earth.”

India has also intensified diplomatic pressure on Pakistan after the attack. The Resistance Front, linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Meanwhile, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have intensified the search for terrorists and their hideouts.

’India Would Bear Full Responsibility For The Fallout’: Pakistan Minister

In a video statement released around 2 am on Wednesday, Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar accused India of preparing for military action based on what he called “fabricated and baseless” claims. He emphasised that Pakistan has long been a victim of terrorism itself and categorically condemned such acts in all forms.

The minister said Pakistan had proposed an impartial investigation led by a neutral international body, but “India had rejected the offer in favour of confrontation”, the PTI report added. He warned that any military move by India would be met with a “firm and decisive” response.

He added that India would bear “full responsibility for the fallout” if tensions escalated.

India has rolled out a series of strong retaliatory measures, including suspending the decades-old Indus Waters Treaty, expelling Pakistani military attaches, cancelling all visas issued to Pakistani nationals since April 27 and shutting down the Attari land border crossing.
