DoT Reportedly Asks Telcos to Complete Caller ID System Trials, Submit Report by April 18

The Department of Telecom (DoT) has instructed India’s top three telecom operators to complete inter-operator trials for the Caller Name Presentation (CNAP) feature. A new report reveals that the CNAP technology, requiring additional network infrastructure for older 2G networks, will be exclusive to 4G and 5G smartphone users when it is rolled out.
